Not-to-be-missed for kids, history and aviation buffs
Pima Air and Space Museum
Featuring about 400 historic aircraft, from a Wright Flyer to a 787 Dreamliner and a Lockheed SR-71, the Pima Air and Space Museum sits on 80 acres, encompasses six indoor exhibit hangars (three dedicated to WWII) across over 250,000 square feet of indoor display space. The spectacular array of outdoor exhibits extend the campus to 127 acres.
Titan Missile Museum
Tour this one-of-a kind museum, a preserved Titan II missile site, officially known as complex 571-7, to see what remains of the 54 Titan II missile sites that were on alert across the United States from 1963 to 1987 during the Cold War. What was once one of America’s most top-secret places is now a National Historic Landmark.
ASARCO Mineral Mine Museum and Mine Tour
The ASARCO Mineral Discovery Center offers mine tours, school programs, and free exhibits, both indoors and out, to educate the public, students and teachers in the earth sciences, and preserve part of the mining history of Arizona, and the Western United States.
