- 2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed Substitute spinach for basil, whole or in part
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Romano or Parmesan cheese (about 2 oz)
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup pine nuts Substitute walnuts or pistachios
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 tbsp)
- 1/4 tsp salt, to taste
- 1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper, or more to taste
Pulse basil and nuts together in processor several times.
Add garlic and cheese to processor and pulse several times more.
Slowly pour olive oil into processor while it's running.
